Lin-Manuel Miranda Joins The Live Action ‘Little Mermaid’ As Producer & Songwriter
Disney’s newest live action animated movie, The Little Mermaid, will see Lin-Manuel Miranda and Alan Menken join the reboot to write some songs, while including some of the classic songs from the animated classic. Lin-Manuel will also be producing the film with Marc Platt.
Miranda has recently worked with Disney on writing all the songs for the upcoming animated movie Moana and will co-star with Emily Blunt in the upcoming “Mary Poppins Returns”.

THRILLED that Disney decided to make a live action film of “The Little Mermaid!!!!!!” Personally, I don’t think Alan Menken needs any help from Lin Manuel Miranda on the songs. I mean, he is a Disney Legend after all. But that is just my two cents.
