Stitch’s Great Escape Moving To Seasonal Operation

stitchs-great-escape-00Stitch’s Great Escape at the Magic Kingdom will be no longer operating on a daily basis from October 2nd, according to a Disney spokesperson.  It will apparently only be open seasonally as attendance demands.

While most dates are showing the attraction as closed, it does look to be open around Thanksgiving and around the Christmas/New Year period.

Our Take:

There have been many rumours over the years that “Stitch’s Great Escape” at the Magic Kingdom would be replaced, possibly with a Wreck It Ralph VR experience.  So this could be a early indication that Disney are planning on doing something new with that area.  Other reasons could be budget cuts, but this also gives Disney an opportunity to close an attraction down eventually, suggesting that it wasn’t in demand.  Either way, the attraction could do with being replaced as it originally was a overlay of the ExtraTERRORestrial attraction which opened in 1995.
