Highlights from TTPM’s Spring Showcase

Last week, I had the opportunity to attend TTPM’s (Toys, Tots, Pets, & More) Spring Showcase. At the event were many great companies, some of which are bring a lot of fun Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars toys and collectibles (and more!) to the market this year. Let’s check out some of the highlights.

Super Impulse

Fraggle Rock

The first as an expanded collection featuring characters from the popular children’s TV series Fraggle Rock, I first got a look at these plush and backpack clips, as well as prototypes of future releases, at Toy Fair this past February. These plush look great, and I hope that the rest of the line comes out later this year.

Moose Toys

Disney Crossy Road 

Recently released in stores nationwide, the Disney Crossy Road collection features plush, backpack clips, and a series of mystery figures with over 40 to collect. Based on the popular character designs from the Disney Crossy Road mobile game, these blocky collectibles are a lot of fun. I love the game, and can see this collection being very popular this year with both players of the game and Disney collectors alike.

Minions Mineez

Featuring characters from the Despicable Me franchise, this officially licensed collection of mini vinyl figures, backpack clips, and plush are going to be a hit with kids… and adults… this year.

Just Play Toys

Cars 3

Cars 3 will be a big hit this summer, and these toys from Just Play are going to be very popular. At the showcase, the team had numerous items from the franchise there. Here is a closer look:

Mack’s Mobile Tool Center

The new Mack’s Mobile Tool Center is based on the highly-anticipated Disney-Pixar’s Cars 3 film! This set features Lightning McQueen’s trusty teammate Mack as a full-service mobile race-station, complete with tools and a light-up diagnostic screen! Open Mack’s trailer to reveal a Lightning McQueen vehicle featuring fun sounds and phrases from the film! The trailer also hols a workshop full of custom parts and tool storage. Drive Lightning McQueen up the ramp and onto the working lift for servicing. The interactive light-up screen shows what needs to be fixed! Kids can pretend to check McQueen’s engine, change a spare tire, and fill up his tank with gas. McQueen will be fixed up and back to the race in no time!

Race Ready Lightning McQueen Tool Kit

Build yourself a winning race car with Disney-Pixar Cars 3 Race Ready Lightning McQueen Tool Kit! This set is packed with an incredible 32 play pieces that allow you to build, tune, and customize your very own Lightning McQueen race car! Lift McQueen’s hood to take a look inside and tune up his engine. Rotate, remove, and customize McQueen’s tires and switch out his spoilers for different aerodynamics. The customizing fun never ends with the Race Ready Lightning McQueen! Set includes 31 customizing part and tools and one Lightning McQueen vehicle.

Crash ‘Ems Plush

Speed into action with Disney-Pixar’s Cars 3 Crash ‘Ems Plush! These mini plush racer pals come with great details and are the perfect size for collecting! Toss, slam, or crash your pals to hear fun phrases and racing sound effects from the film! Collect all four characters and race your friends for the win.

Spider-Man

Also being released this summer are toys surrounding the release of the new Marvel’s Spider-Man Homecoming movie this summer.

Swing and Sling Spidey Plush

Swing, sling, flip and tumble with the new action-packed Marvel Swing and Sling Spidey Plush! Spidey has some amazing moves- he can swing in the air, hang upside down, tumble forward and backwards, and even do a 360 backflip then get right back up! Push his foot to start the action and play the “Spider-Man” theme song.

Spider-Man Homecoming Webwing & Sling Spidey

The Marvel Spider-Man Homecoming Webwing & Sling Spidey Plush is full of web-slinging fun! Squeeze Spider-Man’s legs together to unleash his amazing webwings and help him soar on to the next crime fighting adventure! Unleash the web-tastic action when you press his arm to project the web sling light projection! This awesome plush hero says over 15 sounds and phrases, and he even comes in his signature hero outfit from the movie! The perfect gift for every Spider-Man fan!

Tech 4 Kids

Tech 4 Kids were there showing off a bunch of their fun products, including the Mashems line, which feature a lot of Disney and Marvel characters. On hand were the newest Avengers series, as well as the Guardians of the Galaxy series. Also coming… Cars 3! Looking forward to seeing what else is coming.

Cars 3

Mattel’s popular line of die cast cars featuring the characters from the Disney/ Pixar Cars franchise continues with the release of the Cars 3 collection.

Crazy 8 Crashers Smash & Crash Derby Playset

Recreate the thrilling competition scenes from the new Disney-Pixar Cars 3 movie with this action packing set. Rev your engines and watch the character vehicles race, crash and bash through the course. The set comes with barrels, tires, and other themed accessories as well as a 1:55 scale mud covered Lightning McQueen vehicle to start the fun right away. The first player to knock Miss Fritter’s bus down wins. Then, reconfigure the arena and get ready for more epic action.

Character Car Assortment

There will be a full refresh of the diecast collection for Cars3. There will be a great variety of new Cars 3 characters as well as several familiar faces from Radiator Springs.

These items should be in retail locations now.

Disney Tsum Tsum Series 6

First seen at Toy Fair, here is a look at the final packaging for Series 6, featuring new characters and a new subset collection with Tsparkle Tsurprise… Which are surprise… Sparkly!

We also got our first look of the Mystery Packs Series 6, which features expansions of some of the popular subsets like Winnie the Pooh, Snow White, Aladdin, Frozen, Peter Pan, and Monsters Inc., and introduces a beautiful pairing of Belle and the Beast from the animated Beauty and the Beast movie.

Max Tow Mater

Tow Mater, one of the most popular characters from the Disney-Pixar Cars franchise, and Max Tow Truck and have teamed up as a new innovative vehicle, Max Tow Mater. Kids will watch in astonishment as Mater pushes and pulls up to 200 lbs with ease! Max Tow Mater also includes over 50 phrases and sounds for an exciting interactive toy experience. Push one of the sound activation points to hear Mater speak, then shift him to get towin’!

Rock N’ Roll Groot

Kids will love to control this new remote-controlled Rock N’ RollGroot as he dances, spins, talks and lights up! Kids can enjoy playing with Groot in two different play modes: Manual and Listen.

Star Wars Forces of Destiny

First appearing a couple of weeks ago at Star Wars Celebration, some of the upcoming collection of Star Wars Forces of Destiny Adventure Figures were on display, as well as a first look at the packaging. There will be three lines of figures: a singular figures line (like the Rey of Jakku figure), and “friends” pack (like Rey & BB-8 set), and a deluxe figure line (Chewbacca will be in this line).

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

Featuring role play and a Silent Mary Ghost Ship Play Set, I am liking what Spin Master is putting out to support the newest Pirates of the Caribbean movie, coming out later this month.

Hatchimals Colleggibles

Not Disney by a landslide, but these newest release for the Hatchimals franchise will be very popular. Get them if you see them.

Piston Cup Race
Pixar Cars 3 fans will love lining up Lightning McQueen and Jackson Storm for the final race of the Piston Cup, and helping Luigi to start the race. First help them master early construction and fine motor skills by building the 3 cars and the starting gate. Then explore imagination and role-play with them as Luigi raises his flag.

Flo’s Cafe

Pixar Cars 3 fans will love creating friendship stories with these iconic characters in Radiator Springs. Help your young Cars fan develop fine motor skills building Lightning McQueen, Cruz Ramirez and Mack, and when they’ve all finished hanging out at Flo’s V8 Café, your child can fuel them all up at the gas pump. They’ll have endless fun driving Lightning McQueen up the ramp into Mack’s trailer and heading off to his next race.

Despocable Me 3 Mega Construx

Universal was there displaying a lot of Despicable Me/  Minions products, among others. What stood out for me were the Mega Construx sets from Mega Brands. I like the new vehicles for Gru and his recently revealed twin brother Dru.
