Massive Expansion Rumored To Be Coming To Tokyo Disneyland Resort

Tokyo Disneyland Resort could be set for a massive investment of over 300 Billion Yen ($2.7 Billion), to expand both Disneyland and DisneySea.  According to Kyodo News, Oriental Land Co. who run the resort, are planning on constructing new areas at the parks, which would expand the parks by 30 percent by 2025.

The company as looking to acquire additional land near the resort and construct a new multi-storey car park to replace the existing lots.  These negotiations are set to be ironed out by next May.

Both parks at the resort have been failing to grow due to increased competition from Universal Studios and Disney investing in their own parks in Shanghai and Hong Kong.  So the Oriental Land Company want to appeal to foreign tourists more and the newer areas might have a more Japanese theme.
