New Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Details Announced

Disney have revealed some more details on the new “Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge” themed lands coming to Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios and Disneyland as part of its “12 Days Of Disney Park” announcements.

A special panel took place during the Star Wars: Galactic Night event last night in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  Where Imagineers Robin Reardon and Chris Beatty, and Doug Chiang from Lucasfilm, revealed details on the Millennium Falcon, X-Wings and more.

An image was revealed earlier in the week of the interior of the Millennium Falcon which revealed that guests can walk through its hallways and sit inside the cockpit.

It was also revealed that they are building a fleet of full-size X-wing starfighters, made from metal.

Other news from the event see the team explain some of their experiences researching the exotic markets of Istanbul and Marrakech.  Which were a great source of inspiration for the marketplace in the new Star Wars village where guests can explore a rich collection of shops and merchant stalls.

Chris shared a great example of one overseen by a Toydarian, one of the creatures we first encountered on Tatooine in “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.”

This toy store will sell exclusive merchandise that come straight out of the Star Wars Galaxy and look like hand-crafted toys by local artisans.

Here is a piece of concept art for what that toy stall will look like.
