Review: Disney Parks’ POTC Collectible Figure Play Set

For today’s review, I take a look at the Pirates of the Caribbean Figure Set, a Disney Parks exclusive that recently appeared on clearance at the outlets. Based off the attraction at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World, I got my set locally here in NY. However, when I was down at WDW last month, the local Character Warehouse Outlets both had this set. I am not 100% sure why this set went on clearance, aside from the fact that they recently redid the Pirate Auction scene, where now The Red Head is a female Pirate co-hosting the auction, instead of one of the wenches being auctioned off.

NOTE: I am not going to get into the debate on Disney’s decision to make this change during this review. Now that the change has occurred in the parks, it’s a moot point regardless of how I feel.

Let’s take a closer look at the set.

This set features six figures: The Red Head, the Pooped Pirate, the Auctioneer Pirate, the Beach Pirate, the Hook Pirate, and the Pirate Parrot with Chest.

The Red Head and Pirate Parrot

Auctioneer Pirate and Beach Pirate

Hook Pirate and Pooped Pirate

The Pirates of the Caribbean attraction is one of my favorite Disney Parks attractions (admittedly the Disneyland version is a LOT better than the Magic Kingdom counterpart), and I am very happy to have this set in my collection. To be honest, I might have overlooked it while in the parks, mainly because I try not to spend a lot on souvenirs while in the parks (easier said than done), but being able to find this for under $10 at the outlets is a great find.
