Review: Hasbro Gaming’s Frozen II Collection

In continuing coverage of Frozen II items that Hasbro released on conjunction with the release of the movie tomorrow, this evening I take a look at three of the games that Hasbro Gaming has released. Centered around the characters from the movie, especially Olaf, here are the Frozen II versions of Bop It, Pop-o-Matic Trouble, and Monopoly.

Olaf Bop It

Featuring the voice of Olaf, Josh Gad, in this version of Bop It, you can “bop” Olaf’s stomach, “twist” his lower torso, and “pull” up on his head. Remember o follow the directions that Olaf gives you, or you could find yourself back to square one.

He also makes a great shelf decoration when not being played with.

Pop-o-Matic Trouble: Olaf’s Ice Adventure

In this fun version of Pop-o-Matic Trouble, your goal is to be the last Olaf not melted. Using real ice tokens, each person’s Olaf piece moves around the board by the “pop” of the dice. Along with the die that shows how many spaces the token moves, another die let’s players manipulate the tokens in various ways, including an “ice bath”, a “blizzard” of salt, and a “flood”. Whichever player has the Olaf who melts the slowest wins. Looks to be a fun variation of a game that I played growing up.

Frozen II Monopoly

This version of Monopoly features all exclusives game pieces, as well as a game board that travels throughout the events of the two movies.

Player pieces include Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Mattias (new character in Frozen II), Olaf, and Sven. An additional element to this game is the snowflake token, in which players have to pay double rent when they land on a space occupied by it. I have been collecting different versions of Monopoly for a good chunk of my 38 years here on Earth. This Frozen II version is a very nice version. I decided to not open it up quite yet, and possibly wait until the Christmas holidays to play it with my little cousins, along with the Pop-o-Matic Trouble game.

If you would like to pick up any of these games for the special kids in your life for the holidays, check out our friends over at Entertainment Earth.
