Leslie Knope makes a cameo on upcoming Duncanville episode

Amy Poehler’s iconic Parks and Recreation character Leslie Knope will make an fleeting appearance on next season’s Duncanville. Poehler plays a meter maid mother on the animated series, who is nominated against other public employees for a civic award.

Of the seven companies that produce Duncanville, two are Disney-owned, Fox Entertainment and 20th Century Fox Television. The other companies include Universal Television. The series is also distributed by 20th Television.

The clip was revealed during a panel at Comic-Con@Home, today. The San Diego Comic-Con is completely virtual this year, for obvious reasons.

Series co-creator Mike Scully commented that “the teenage thing was kind of a fun way in for us. Fifteen years old is that age where you get your learners permit, but you’ve got to have your parents with you, that kind of cusp of adulthood, where you can taste it.”

Speaking on her character, Joy Osmanski commented that “I think Jing, she often feels like the eye of the storm, her family just swirls around her, and she just sits in her highchair, just shoveling Cheerios in her mouth, and watching everyone kind of dismantle themselves. That’s actually a perspective that I wish I could have, I’m usually the one swirling around. It’s nice to play a five-year-old who has some presence of mind and is calm.”

Asked to compare Parks and Rec and Duncanville, Rashida Jones observed that both series “have a really great, deep bench of characters, so no matter what part of the government you’re in, or what part of the school or home on this show, you’re going to have very dynamic interactions between the characters.”

UPDATE as of July 23, 2020 at 7:48 pm: Clarification that the series is produced by seven companies, not just the two Disney-owned firms.
