Review: D23 Goofy Movie Pin Set

For today’s review, I take a look at a Disney Pin Trading Set that was intended for a special D23 event that never took place this spring due to Covid. However, D23 did release the set this summer for their members through shopDisney online. Featuring characters from the fan favorite film that celebrated its’ 25th Anniversary this year, here is the A Goofy Movie: On the Open Roadshow.

This special event, which was supposed to happen at various locations on both coasts of the US throughout April 2020, was to feature a special presentation from the voice of Goofy, Bill Farmer, and then the opportunity to watch the movie once again on the big screen. Attendees was also going to receive this pin set of three pins showcasing locations in the movie. Sadly, the entire tour was cancelled after the country shut down. I had a ticket to attend the event in Boston, and was disappointed partially because I really wanted to get this pin set. Luckily, D23 announced that they would be giving an opportunity for D23 members to purchase this pin set this summer, since the set was already made.

What I love about this set is that it features three characters exclusive to the movie that rarely get featured on merchandise.

First up is Lester (an animatronic possum) from Lester’s Possum Park.

Next up, Bigfoot, which Goofy and Max run into during their road trip.

Note: Bigfoot is representing the location Lake Destiny, which isn’t actually where he is from. Goofy and Max’s ultimate destination is Lake Destiny, but they never actually get there.

The final pin showcases Powerline from his Los Angeles stop on his 1995 Tour.

This is a great pin set, and one I am excited to have in my collection. A Goofy Movie is one of my favorite Disney movies ever. These characters, to me, are iconic. Hopefully when the movie celebrates its’ 30th Anniversary, D23 and Disney can give this movie the celebration it deserves.
