Review: McDonald’s Disney Princess Happy Meal Collection (April 2021)

Back in April 2021, McDonald’s released a special “Choose Your Journey” Happy Meal. This included two different lines of Happy Meal toys: Disney Princesses and Star Wars. I was road tripping down and back to Walt Disney World throughout that month, so this gave a me a reason for trying to complete one, or both, of the sets. I chose to focus on the Disney Princess collection, mainly because I liked the look of them more and the fact that some of the princesses don’t get a lot of Happy Meal love (where as a lot of these Star Wars characters have appeared in similar sets before).

In addition to each Disney Princess coming in a limited articulation form, they come with a themed piece of a castle that you can put together. This is reminiscent to me of theĀ Castle of Magical Dreams in Hong Kong Disneyland. This castle replaced Sleeping Beauty Castle in November, 2020, and is designed to pay tribute to a multitude of Disney Princesses, including the eight featured in this collection.

Here is a closer look at the collection:

Put together, the castle really does take shape.

This really is a fun set, and I am happy that I wasn’t just able to track a set down for myself for my Disney Happy Meal collection, but also able to track individual Disney Princesses down for my little cousins who just wanted one or two of them.

I wouldn’t mind Disney revisiting this set and adding to it with other Disney Princesses like Anna, Elsa, Aurora, Merida, Raya, Rapunzel, and maybe even Vanellope. Would be a lot of fun.
