Review: Star Wars Black Series Rey with Speeder

Happy New Year Everyone!

For this first review of mine for the New Year, I want to take a closer look at a Star Wars Black Series Deluxe set. Originally released back in 2017, I recently added this piece to my small (but growing) Black Series collection after finding it for a great price locally. Based on the opening scenes from Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, here is Rey’s Speeder (Jakku) and Rey (Scavenger).

Let’s check out Rey first. Dressed in her scavenger gear, she’s well equipped to survive the brutal desert landscape of Jakku. Her face covering piece is removable. She comes with her staff and backpack.

Rey’s Speeder comes with a display stand, and features a couple of opening panels that reveal the engine mechanics, as well as a cargo net and some of Rey’s “haul”.

I love the sculpt of this speeder. I do wish that the Rey figure came with an additional head that did not include the goggles and head wrap. However, when put together, these two pieces look great.

I am WELL behind the ball when it comes to collecting the Star Wars Black Series figures. Although I do not collect the entire line like some of my friends, I am happy that I was able to add this piece to my collection. It’s a great display piece for sure.

While this piece is no longer available retail wide, you should still be able to find her on the secondary market, or possibly even at your local comic book or specialty shop. For any Star Wars collectors out there, I would suggest picking it up. It’s a top notch piece from the team at Hasbro.
