Temple Run: Brave & Temple Run: Oz Are Being Retired

Disney have announced that Temple Run: Brave and Temple Run: Oz have both been removed from all app stores for all platforms. The apps will be retired on October 31, 2017, and active product support will no longer be provided after that date.

Disney have stated “Although the decision was difficult to make, this will allow us to focus on building new and more engaging games. While they may still be playable, there are no plans for future updates.”  We appreciate your support and understanding.

It should be worth noting that the games were released in 2012 and 2013, to tie in with the release of the movies, Brave and Oz: The Great & Powerful.  So these titles have been around for a long time for a mobile game.  This continues a trend Disney Interactive have been doing lately of closing off older games and with the recent push by Apple to update apps for their new platforms, these older titles may simply no longer be profitable for Disney to continue to offer.

Players should also remember that Disney Interactive is not responsible for providing refunds or credits for any virtual items, in-game currency, or other items that may be no longer available once a game is shut down.  Which is why I do try to advise gamers that digital purchases should be viewed as a consumable purchase like a coffee rather than a collectible item.

Do you still play either of these games?
