Disney Voices Added to Fan Expo Canada Line-Up

The stars of Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord are among the Disney voice actors featured at this summer’s largest Canadian pop culture convention, Fan Expo Canada.

Sam Witwer (Darth Maul), Vanessa Marshall (Hera), David Collins (Spybot), and Matthew Wood (General Grievous) all will make appearances. Wood is also an acclaimed sound editor, with five Academy Award nominations to his credit, including for the Star Wars sequel trilogy. Paired with Collins, also from the Lucasfilm sound department, audiophiles can hope for a separate sound session.

Martha Plimpton was featured in Frozen 2 as Yelena, leader of the Northuldra tribe. She’s also voiced character in the Vampirina and Doc McStuffins series. Her breakout role, however, was Warner Bros.’ The Goonies.

Remember The Fox and the Hound? Young Copper’s voice was provided by Corey Feldman. His Disney credits also include a voice in Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!, a series that I had never heard of before tonight, despite the fact it ran for four seasons.

Hobbit legend Elijah Wood lent his voice to Disney XD animated series Tron: Uprising, but has also appeared on screen for the house of mouse in The Adventures of Huck Finn and Pinocchio in educational film You and Your Five Senses.

Mel Gibson voiced John Smith in the 1995 feature Pocahontas, at that time billed as “one of the world’s most popular action stars.” That reputation has lagged in decades, and his invite has had mixed reception in internet forums for the convention.

In front of the camera, guest Alec Baldwin starred in The Marrying Man, an R-rated romantic comedy produced by Disney-owned Hollywood Pictures. It’s available to stream on Disney+.
