Robert Guillaume: ‘Rafiki’ Actor Dies

Award-winning US actor Robert Guillaume has died at home, aged 89 following complications from prostate cancer.  Robert Guillaume will be remembered by Disney fans for his vocal performance as Rafiki in the Lion King.

He also appeared in the ABC TV shows including Soap and his own spinoff series, Benson, which he won two Emmy’s for, including outstanding supporting actor in 1979 and he was the first black actor to win the Emmy for outstanding lead actor in 1985.

He is survived by his second wife, a son and three daughters.
