Germany: Massive Crowds at Store Opening for Disney Products

Germany’s chain of stores selling Disney product has a third location.

“The House” is a new chain of stores selling Disney products, owned by reality TV star Sam Dylan. His third location is in the Westfield Centro Oberhausen shopping centre attracted lineups of easily hundreds of people, based on news photos. The mall apparently queued the public through the back utility corridors, to keep the rest of the building passable. Some arrived at 6 am for the noon opening.

News outlet WAZ wasn’t feeling the magic, reporting “lo and behold: the new store looks as if the blueprints were stolen from a cartoon. It couldn’t be more garish.” Fans reportedly were awed on entrance, though.

The store products include Disney Parks exclusives and discontinued products.

“He doesn’t manufacture the products himself, but sells merchandise licensed by Disney,” WAZ shared. “To do this, he first had to obtain a permit from the Americans, who are known for their strictness regarding copyright issues.”
