Walt Disney Comics & Stories #722 Review
Walt Disney Comics & Stories #722 is full of plenty of classic Disney character fun with 3 stories from different eras, we have longer story from the 90’s and some classic stories from the 30’s and 40’s featuring Donald Duck, Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse, Goofy and more.
There are a few different covers for this comic book including a great Epcot themed cover featuring Goody, Donald and Mickey in front of Spaceship Earth as tourists.
The first story is called, “The Search for the Zodiac Stone – Chapter 2 of 12: Scorpion Valley” and this story is from Italian Topolino 1781 (1990). This picks up from the last issue and is going to be a consistent story in this run of comics for a while due to the 12 chapters. Our heroes are trying to track down Peg Leg Pete in the Rainforest which involve airshow pilots, rainforest natives, canoeing down the river, huge insects including wasps, spiders, beetles and much more. Its a pretty cool story with lots to keep kids entertained. The story continues along at a nice pace and the inclusion of Donald Duck & Scrooge McDuck made the story more interesting.
The next short single page story is called “Demolition Donkey” from Donald Duck Four Color 62 (1945) is a nice Donald Duck story that had a great punchline.
And the final story is called “Minnie Can’t See the Joke” from Mickey Mouse Sunday comic strip (1939) sees Mickey missing about and getting into trouble which doesn’t go down well with Minnie Mouse. This was my favourite story from this episode.
Overall, another good edition of classic Disney characters getting up to their adventures, which is great for older Disney fans and also for newer younger fans to learn about the classic characters.
