Japan goes all in on Star Wars Day
Live in Tokyo, and looking to show off with your Star Wars trivia knowledge? Starting tomorrow, April 27, there’s opportunity to register in-person for a trivia competition on May 4. While you’re there, check out the second floor, which has received a sleak transformation into a Star Wars section, including with products based on Mandalorian and Grogu.
Middle East store-in-stores close
In the Middle East, Disney Store remains at two stores (Grand Plaza – The Avenues, Al Rai, Kuwait and Doha Festival City, Umm Salal Muhammed, Qatar), but appears to have closed its more than two dozen shop-in-shop locations inside locations of Mothercare and Debenhams.
Singapore: pop-up at Great World Atrium
Since April 22, a DisneyStore.sg Pop-Up Experience has been open at Great World Atrium, level 1. It stays open until May 17. A line of special Star Wars merchandise, including items from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, will arrive on May 4.
From May 1 to 4, you can “trace, bake, watch it shrink” as you make Star Wars-themed keychains from noon to 4 pm.
United States: no news about pop-ups
Two weeks ago, it was revealed that the United States will get two pop-up locations, under the name Disney Store: Limited Time.
For more, read “USA Gets Disney Store Pop-Ups, First in May.”
Since that article, DisKingdom has reached out to both Go! Retail Group, which will operate the stores, and first location Ross Park Mall for more information, with no luck. We’re eager to find out whether the Limited Time locations will be in mall units or a kiosk in the mall corridor, as pop-up location formats range greatly around the world.
